Since we began in 2005, the Environmental Justice Project has:

  • Helped win passage of California’s landmark law to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent
  • Distributed 10,000 energy efficient light bulbs after Masses for Environmental Justice Sunday
  • Launched battery recycling drop-off programs and free electronic waste collection days at local parishes
  • Partnered with the National Catholic Rural Life Conference to hold Care for Creation workshops in the Stockton Diocese.

  • Monthly “Care for God’s Creation” e-newsletter
  • Experienced staff and network of parish volunteers who organize events and educational workshops on environmental stewardship
  • Nationally-trained Catholic Climate Ambassadors to make presentations at parishes, schools, and organizations
