Biodynamic Initiative for the Next Generation seeks Interns

Posted 17 July 2011, by Thea Maria Carlson, Biodynmic Farming and Gardening Association (Demeter USA Association), biodynamics.com

The Biodynamic Association’s Biodynamic Initiative for the Next Generation (BING) is currently seeking interns to support its work to connect young people inspired by biodynamics. Each intern will be primarily responsible for organizing and carrying out a gathering (such as a workshop, film screening, mixer or discussion group) in their region in the fall or winter of 2011-12.

Interns will work directly with the BING coordinator, Thea Maria Carlson, who will provide guidance and assistance in planning and publicizing the event. There is also a small budget to cover event costs. While this intern position is unpaid, it offers a great opportunity to gain experience in event planning and organizing and become more connected with the wider biodynamic community.

BING interns will work remotely, and must have reliable access to phone and email. A minimum commitment of 3-5 hours per week for at least three months is requested. The internship is open to anyone interested in or practicing biodynamics who has a desire to work to bring like-minded people together.

To apply, please send a brief letter of interest addressing the following questions, along with your resume, to Thea Maria Carlson at bing@biodynamics.com:
– How are you inspired by and/or practicing biodynamics?
– What sort of gathering do you imagine organizing?
– What skills, connections or resources do you have that may be helpful in organizing a BING gathering?

Applications will be accepted until August 15, 2011.
