Biosphere ‘too green’

THE organisation behind the Gympie and Fraser Coast region “biosphere” has been told the ambitious project, to promote innovative and responsible relationships between business and the environment, has had a faltering start – because it is “too green”.
Gympie Council’s Graham Engeman, who attended the Burnett Mary Regional Group’s annual general meeting in Maryborough said, “The biosphere got off on the wrong foot, because it was seen as a conservation lock-it-up sort of thing,”.
“But it is about how man and the environment can work together and benefit everyone,” he told today’s council meeting.
