Determined to be more than just a pretty face, the model Lily Cole has gone on to study history of art at Cambridge University and embark on an acting career. Now she is taking her first steps in fashion design, for the Environmental Justice Foundation, a charity.

“She is designing a T-shirt for their climate refugees campaign,” a friend of the 22-year-old tells me.

“It is a subject she’s passionate about. It will be produced in the factories that she visited with the charity in India.”

Cole has been involved with the Environmental Justice Foundation since 2007. She recently opened their pop up shop, Just, in Covent Garden.
