Naic town commits to sustainable waste management

NAIC, Cavite, Jan. 24 (PIA) – The importance of proper waste segregation, efficient system of garbage collection, recycling and composting to protect mother earth and combat the effects of global warming are priority programs under the administration of Mayor Edwina P. Mendoza of this municipality.
Eva P. Pangilinan, municipal environment and natural resources officer (MENRO), said the sustainable municipal waste management and strict compliance of Republic Act 9003 which prohibits open dumpsites among others, are currently implemented by the local government.
In support, 20th Attack Squadron of Philippine Air Force (PAF) led by Major Sheillah Grace E. Vicente solidly committed to protect the environment for future regeneration.
Thus, programs and projects like environmental awareness and conservation, mangrove protection and rehabilitation, tree planting and coastal clean-up drive are planned for tie-up with the local government of Naic to better serve the environment. (PIA-Cavite)
